Not every error code means an expensive repair. E01/E02 is a temperature sensor at $30–$80 — replacement takes 20 minutes. E24 is the defrost heater — also fast. The most expensive is E10 (power module), but even that is a fraction of buying a new Thermador at $5,000–$12,000.
Thermador and Bosch share the same BSH platform. I service both brands every week. Diagnostic protocols are identical — a scan on Thermador looks the same as a scan on a Bosch 800 Series.
| Category | Codes | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature sensors | E01, E02, E05, E06, E07 | $80 + $30–$100 |
| Electronic modules | E10, E11, E20 | $600–$1,200 |
| Ice maker (incl. Diamond Ice) | E15 | $80 + $60–$200 |
| Defrost system | E24 | $80 + $40–$120 |
Diagnostic fee: $150 — waived when you approve the repair.
Sometimes. Unplug the refrigerator for 30 seconds and plug back in. If E11 (display module) — a power cycle often clears it. For E01/E02/E24 — a reset usually doesn't help because the underlying hardware problem remains.
The code can clear temporarily while the root cause stays. Call us — Dmitri will run a full scan. Better to repair now than wait for a hard failure with food inside.
Not all failures produce an error code. If the fridge isn't cooling without a displayed code — the issue may be the compressor, a fan motor, or a refrigerant leak. More on 'not cooling' →
Largely yes — BSH uses a shared E-code system. Thermador adds some extra codes for premium features (ice maker module, TFT display). Bosch error codes →

My LG had been making a low hum for two weeks, then stopped cooling. Tech said that's the LG Linear compressor sending a warning before it quits — caught a small refrigerant leak just in time. Recharged same day. Way cheaper than the $2,000 fridge I was eyeing.

Another company said my Whirlpool compressor was dead — $600 to fix. These guys tested pressure and found the compressor was fine; just a $80 thermostat. Honest diagnosis, $160 total.

Samsung French Door showed no error but the fridge section was room temp. Tech said Samsung Twin Cooling systems freeze up the evap fan before any code appears — that's exactly what happened. Fixed in 45 min. $800 in groceries saved the night before my party.
