Since 2002 Amana dryers share the same Whirlpool platform — same belt, same drum rollers, same motor and heat chain. That means OEM parts are widely available and inexpensive, and the repair procedure is straightforward.
The NED/NGD series with their simple dial controls (no touchscreen to fail) are especially reliable. If your Amana stopped heating or the drum went quiet, don't replace it yet. A thermal fuse or drive belt costs $20–$40. The repair runs $150–$250 and you'll get another 10 years out of it.
