Roper is Whirlpool Corporation's entry-level brand — built on the exact same platform as Whirlpool's economy tier. That means the same belt, same drum rollers, same motor, and the same inexpensive parts.
The RED and RGD series are built without touchscreens, electronic control boards, or moisture sensors — just a mechanical dial timer. There's very little to fail electronically. A heating element or a belt is almost always the answer, and both are cheap Whirlpool-platform parts.
If your Roper stopped heating or the drum went quiet, don't replace it. A thermal fuse costs $15. A drive belt is $20. The repair runs $150–$250 and gives you another solid 10 years.
