Common errors on Duet and Cabrio models
L2 (Line 2) — Low voltage
Only 120V is reaching the dryer instead of the required 240V. Machine will spin but won't heat. Fix: Check both breakers in the electrical panel — both must be on. Then check the outlet.
F01, F02 — Control board or user interface
F01 = main control board fault. F02 = keypad/button fault. Fix: Unplug the dryer for 10 minutes. If the code returns — board replacement needed.
F22, F23 — Thermistor (exhaust temperature sensor)
Exhaust thermistor has failed. Dryer can't regulate heat properly. Fix: Thermistor replacement from $80 + part.
F28, F29 — Moisture sensor
Moisture sensor malfunction — dryer can't detect when clothes are dry. Fix: Replace moisture sensor strips. Often triggered by fabric softener coating the sensor bars.

The AF (Air Flow) code is by far the most common Whirlpool dryer error. The machine is protecting itself from overheating. If you keep running it with a clogged duct, the thermal fuse will blow — and then the dryer won't heat at all until you replace both the fuse and clean the duct.
